All things I can do in the empowering me.

All things I can do in the empowering me. Phil.4:13

A. Jesus believers can abstain from all these:

1. They can abstain from fornication, adultery, smoking, drinking, gambling…

2. Jesus put it this way-->

By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just,

for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.  John 5:30  I am the vine; you are the branches.

If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5

3. About himself this is what Apostle Paul said! Romans 7:19-22

Ro 7:19 For the good which I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I practice.

Ro 7:20 But if what I would not, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.

Ro 7:21 I find then the law, that, to me who would do good, evil is present.

Ro 7:22-23 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind,

and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin    which is in my members.

Ro 7:24 Wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me out of the body of this death?

Ro 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So then I of myself with the mind, indeed, serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

4. As I said last Sunday, I said it again-->

Jesus believers can exercise self-control to do things that is beneficial to all people! 1 Cor.6:12

Jesus believers can exercise self-control to do things that is constructive! 1 Cor.10:23

5. Jesus believers can live like Timothy! Phil.2:19-22

I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you.

I have no one else like him, who takes a genuine interest in your welfare.

For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. But you know that Timothy has proved himself,

because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.

B. Yes, I can attend worship service on all the first day of the week!1. Let us not give up meeting together,

as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one    another--

and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Heb.10:25

2. On the first day of the week we came together to break bread.

Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. Acts 20:7

3. Yes, as the early believers, we can devote ourselves to the Apostle’s teaching. Acts 2:42

4. Yes, we can live a life doing righteousness. 1 John 3:10

5. As a church of Christ we are about righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Ro.14:17

6. Yes, we can practice honesty!  Matt.5:37

7. Yes, we can submit ourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted among men… 1 Pet.2:13

8. Therefore, we are to God the aroma of Christ!

2 Cor.2:15-17For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task?

Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit.

On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God.

C. What about what you preach last Sunday?

1. Did you quote 1 Cor.7:8-9-->

1 Cor.7:8 Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am.

1 Cor. 7:9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to  burn with passion. (NIV)

2. Here we have “if they cannot control themselves.”,…

What do you say about this?

3. Easy, I just check it out with the original text from my word for word translation Bible!

Word for word translation Bible says-->

But if they do not exercise self-control, let them marry.

(Thank God, I am lucky, one more time!)

D. Conclusion: Yes, All things I can do in the empowering me. Phil.4:13

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this on March 30, 2014!
