The consequence is eternal damnation!

    The consequence is eternal damnation!

Main scripture for this study:

Hebrew 2:3--> How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation;

    which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.

A. Apostle Paul declared:

    But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you,

    let him be eternally condemned. Gal.1:8

B. The purpose of teaching and believing is!

    1 Tim.4:16   Take heed to thyself, and to thy teaching.

    Continue in these things; for in doing this thou shall save both thyself and them that hear thee.

1. Preacher's responsibility!

    2 Tim 4:2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—

    with great patience and careful instruction.

    2 Tim 4:5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist,

    discharge all the duties of your ministry.

2. Hearers responsibility-->

    Acts 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians,

    for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

    James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

B. This is the gospel Apostle Paul preached!

1. Acts 16:30 He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"

    Acts 16:31 They replied: Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-- you and your household.

    Acts 16:32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house.

    Acts 16:33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds;

     then immediately he and all his family were baptized.

2. This was the Lord Jesus’ instruction!

Mark 16:15-16   He said to them,

    "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.

    Whoever believes  and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

C. What were the understanding and response of the hearers?

1. Acts 2:37-41--> When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles,

   "Brothers, what shall we do?"

    Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one   of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.

    And you will receive the gift of  the Holy Spirit. …

    Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to the church that day.

2. Acts 8:35-38  Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.

    As   they traveled along the road,

    they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water.   Why shouldn't I be baptized?

    And Philip said, If you believe with all thy heart, you may.

    And he  answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

    And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.

3. Acts 19:4-5--> Paul said: John's baptism was a baptism of repentance.

    He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.

    On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

D. Please rise up to reign with the Lord Jesus Christ! Rev.20:6

1. Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection.

    The second death has no power over them,

    but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

2, Ro 6:3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

    We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that,

    just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

    Mt 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

    Mt 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,

     baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

     Mt 28:20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

     And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.""

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this on June 1, 2014.
