Rise up to reign with Christ!
A. Main Scripture for this study! Rev.20:6
1. Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection.
The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
2. Baptism is to die, bury and resurrect with Christ. Ro.6:4
3. Baptism is a washing away of one’s sins. Acts 22:16
Thus these people are blessed and holy. The second death has no power over them.
The 2nd death is being thrown into the lake of fire! Rev.20:14
Only sinners are to be thrown into the lake of fire!
4. Apostle Peter made it clear, the baptized people ae a royal priesthood and holy nation! 1 Peter 2:9
5. The 1000 years is a long period of time, Jesus’ New Testament time.
B. To reign with Christ is easier than to reign yourself!
All you need is announce what Christ said in the New Testament Bible!
This was how Peter did it! Acts 2:36-38
1. Therefore let all Israel be assured of this.
God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. Acts 2:36
2. When they heard this, they were cut to the hearts. They asked: What must we do? Acts 2:37
3. Peter replied: Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ
for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
4. Those who heard him were baptized. On that day 3000 were added into the church. Acts 2:41
This was how Paul did it!
1. He was asked: What must I do to be saved? Acts 16:30
2. He replied: Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your family. Acts 16:31
3. Then he spoke the word of the Lord to him and to his family. Acts 16:32
4. Immediately at that hour of the night he and his family were baptized. Acts 16:33
5. For if you live after the flesh, you must die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live. Romans 8:13
You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. Romans 6:18
This is how I do nowadays!
1. All unrighteousness is sin. 1 John 5:17
2. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
3. Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart; then I can answer anyone who treats me with contempt. Proverb 27:11
Even so let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
4. But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the Lord; and you may be sure that your sin will catch up with you. Num.32:23
5. Do not wait until end of body life! God will not listen to prayers from Hades! Luke 16:22-31
6. Be sure of this--> The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. Ro.6:23
7. Sinners are baptized into Christ! Ro.6:38. Those who believe and repent can be baptized into Christ!
C. If you don’t rise up to reign with Christ, you will be found disobeying his commands!
1. Matthew recorded it with more details. Matt.28:18-20
a. Matt.28:18--> All authority in heaven and on earth have been given to Jesus.
b. Jesus said: Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them into the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matt.28:19
c. Teaching them to obey all things I commanded you and lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Matt.28:20
2. I would rather let people refuse to obey Christ, than to be found guilty of disobeying! Acts 13:46-47
Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: We had to speak the word of God to you first.
Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we turn to the Gentiles.
For this is what the Lord has commanded us: I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.
