Subject: Seven things the Lord hates!Scriptures for this study: Proverb 6:16-23
A. The scriptures as recorded:
There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:
1. Haughty eyes.
2. A lying tongue.
3. Hands that shed innocent blood.
4. A heart that devises wicked schemes.
5. Feet that are quick to rush into evil.
6. A false witness who pours out lies.
7. A man who stirs up dissension among brothers. Proverb 6:17-19
B. What Jesus’ believers are to do-->
1. Pro 6:20 My son, keep your father's commands and do not forsake your mother's teaching.
2. Pro 6:21 Bind them upon your heart forever; fasten them around your neck.
3. Pro 6:22 When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you;
when you awake, they will speak to you.
4. Pro 6:23 For these commands are a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life,
5. Pro 5:1 My son, pay attention to my wisdom, listen well to my words of insight,
Pro 5:2 that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge.
6. Pro 18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty; And before honor humility.
7. Pro 9:10 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom. And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
8. Pro 27:11 Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart; then I can answer anyone who treats me with contempt.
Pro 27:12 The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
