Rise up to reign with Christ for a thousand years.

Rise up to reign with Christ for a thousand years.

The scripture for this study: Rev.20:6

Scripture as recorded--> Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death

has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

Understanding what says in the Bible! There are four parts in the verse:

A. Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection.

B. The second death has no power over them.

C. But they will be priests of God and of Christ.

D. And will reign with him for a thousand years.

A. Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection.

1. He who believes and is baptized will be saved! Mark 16:16

2. When believers repent and is baptized in the name of Jesus Christ their sins washed away and receive the gift

of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:36-38, 22:16.

3. These saved people are added into the church by the Lord. Acts 2:47

4. At time of baptism sinners died with Christ, buried with Christ and resurrected with Christ! Ro.6:3-4

    This is the first resurrection.

5. The baptized saved people receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

This Holy Spirit testify with one’s own spirit that they are children of God. Ro.8:16

6. These baptized saved people make up the one body, the church. Ro.12:5

7. These baptized saved people are called the family of God. 1 Tim.3:15

8. These baptized saved people are called the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of God. Eph.2:19. 1 Pe.2:9

9. How blessed and holy can they be?

Be as perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect.  Matt.5:48

B. The second death has no power over them!

1. The baptized saved people have part in the first resurrection, their sins forgiven!

They are as perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect!

2. The second death has power over these people! Rev.21:8

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic

arts, the idolaters and all liars-- their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.

3. Second death is the lake of fire. Rev.20:14, 21:8

4. Lake of fire, second death was prepared for the devil and his angels! Matt.25:41

5. People in the church of Christ are about doing righteousness, and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Ro.14:17

6. Righteousness doing people are children of God. 1 John 3:10

The second death has no power over children of God!

C. But they will be priests of God and of Christ.

1.  You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual

sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5

    a. You are a piece of living stone. You are a part of the church of Christ

    b. You are being built into a spiritual house.  That is the church of Christ.

    c. You are a holy priesthood.  To do so you must live a life that is holy to God. 1 Peter 1:15-16

    d. Your job is offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

    e. In order to perform item above you have to worship God in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

This items offered in worship to God must be what says in the New Testament Bible!

    f.  Are you living like a holy priest and performing your priestly duty on Sunday and other days?

2. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare

the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

    a. You are a chosen people.  Chosen out of the world from about 6.5 billion people!

    b. You are a royal priesthood.  You are not just holy, you are also royally!

    c. You are a holy nation.  A nation make up with holy people!  This is the church of Christ!

    d. You are a people belonging to God.  Now you know why the name of the church have to be church of Christ!

    e. That you may declare the praises of Jesus Christ.  Are you declaring the praises of Jesus Christ?

    f. Jesus had called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

You have to be in Christ's wonderful light, before you can help save those who are still in darkness!

Jesus had sent others to get you out of darkness. Now you are obligated to help others out of darkness!

D. And will reign with Christ for a 1000 years.

1.  A 1000 years is the period of New Testament Jesus’ time!  A 1000 years means a long period of time!

Like the keys in the angel’s hand symbolize authority and power! Not literal keys for opening doors!

This 1000 years start with the time Christ shed his blood on the cross to the end of the world!

2. The point here is--> are your reigning with Christ right now!

3. What does this mean? And how to reign with Christ!

4. Jesus had made it simple and clear in Matt.28:18-20!

    a. Jesus declared: All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Matt.28:18

    b. Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all nations.

    c. Baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

    d. Teaching them to obey all things I commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.

5. Jesus repeated this in Mark 16:15-16

He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.

He who believes will be saved. He who believes not will be condemned.

E. Conclusion:  In what way and at what price Jesus’ followers went about to reign with Christ at their time?

1.  But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.

Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went! Acts 8:3-4

2. I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit—I have great sorrow and

unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could with that I myself were cursed and cut off form Christ for the sake of

my brothers, those of my own race. Romans 9:1-3

3. Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.  For I can testify

about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they did not know the

righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. Romans 10:1-3

4. Acts 5:42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and

proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.

5. These were some of the prices they had to put up to reign with Christ at their time!

    a. They were stoned.   b. They were sawed in two.  c. They were put to death by the sword.

    d. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins.  f. They were destitute, persecuted and mistreated. Heb.11:37

    g. The world was not worthy of them.

    h. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves, and holes in the ground. Heb.11:38

6. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. Heb.11:39

God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect. Heb.11:40

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders

and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Heb.12:1

7. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross,

scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb.12:2

May the Lord bless you and keep you always.
