Blessed are the hunger and thirst for righteousness! Matt.5:6
Jesus said: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Jesus taught this. This must be truth!
A. But who in the world are hunger and thirst for righteousness!
1. The first group of people came to my mind is those who are wrongly wronged!
Such as the persecuted for doing righteousness!
2. The poor and the weak bullied by the strong.
The poor has the gospel preached to them. Matt.11:5
3. Children of God in the kingdom of God, church of Christ are hunger and thirst for it!
1 Jn.3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that love not his brother.
Ro.14:17 For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace
and joy in the Holy Spirit.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for (God's)…
B. Where shall they be filled with righteousness?
No where else but the church of Christ!
1. One who confessed to believe Jesus but not do what Jesus said is unrighteousness!
Unrighteousness is sin! 1 John 5:17
2. The name of a church is not church of Christ is unrighteousness!
Especially when such a church claim to be church of Christ in what ever form!
Just simply let your yes be yes and no be no! Matt.5:37
Beyond this comes from the evil one! Matt.5:37
3. Believe Jesus but not be a member the church of Christ is unrighteousness by itself!
If you believe Jesus, naturally you would be a part of the church of Christ! Romans 12:5
4. Denomination is warped, sinful and self-condemned, naturally it is unrighteousness!
Believe Jesus is to forsake all unrighteousness and embrace righteousness! James 1:21
C. How do I know someone is a righteousness doing person?
1. As you would others do to you, do so to others! Matt.7:12
Just do the exact same thing to the person who did things that hurt you!
Then stand still, watch, if he smiles and say to you--> Thank you very much!
2. Are they seek only their own interests but not the interests of others. Eph.2:4
Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
3. Are they seek only his own interests, but not those of Jesus Christ?
For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. Eph.2:21
D. Conclusion: Besides the church of Christ there is no salvation for the soul!
1. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love,
endurance and gentleness. 1 Tim.6:11
2. Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with
those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Tim.2:22
3. 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting
and training in righteousness.
4. 2 Tim 4:8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the
righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-- and not only to me, but also to all who
have longed for his appearing. May the Lord bless you and keep you always!
