Bible answers to life questions!

A. Disaster and sickness.

1. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.

In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

2. Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. Luke 5:31

3. Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt?

And with whom was he angry for forty years?

Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? Heb.3:16-17

4. As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.

His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"

"Neither this man nor his parents sinned,"

said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. John 9:1-3

5. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him

    with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well;

the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. James 5:14-15

6. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces

perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4

B. Life expectancy, how long I may live?

1. If you want to live long! Eph.6:2-3

Honor your father and mother"-- which is the first commandment with a promise—

that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.

2. God set the time! Acts 17:26

    From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth;

and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.

3. Your life is like a vapor, appeared for a little while and disappear!  James 4:14

C. Debt and repay.

1. Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another,

for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. Romans 13:8

2. If you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you?

Even `sinners' lend to `sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. Luke 6:34

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.

Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the

    ungrateful and wicked. Luke 6:35

3. I tell you the truth, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny. Matt.5:26

D. Marry and divorce. Matt.19:6, 1  Cor.7:10-11

1. So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.

2. To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband.

But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband.

And a husband must not divorce his wife. 1  Cor.7:10-11

3. To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is

willing to live with him, he must not divorce her.  And if a woman has a husband who is not a

believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him.  1 Cor. 7:12-13

4. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except for fornication, and shall marry

another, commit adultery: and he that marry her when she is put away commit adultery. Matt.19:9

G. Money matters.

1. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has

said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."  So we say with confidence, "The Lord is

my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"  Heb.13:5-6

2. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can

take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that 1 Tim.6:6-8.

3. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful

desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 1 Tim.6:9

4. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered

from the faith and pierced themselves with many grief. 1 Tim.6:10
