How not to sin?  Main scripture for this study: 1 Cor.6:12

1. All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me,

    but I will not be brought under the power of any. KJV

2. Original text study: The word translated as ‘lawful’ in KJV is ‘allow’.

A. This is how man being brought under the power of things! James 1:13-15

     Do not blame God! Let not man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God. James 1:13

     For God cannot be tempted with evil and he himself tempted no man. James 1:13

Step 1, Each man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed. James 1:14

Step 2, Then the lust, when it has conceived, bear sin.

Step 3,  And the sin, when it is full grown, bring forth death. James 1:15

B. The eye can be the problem! Matt.6:22-23

1. The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye be single,

    your whole body shall be full of light. Matt.6:22

2. But if your eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. Matt.6:23

    If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is the darkness! Matt.6:23

C. How to avoid being enticed? Matt.18:7-9

1. Woe unto the world because of occasions of stumbling! For it must needs be that the occasions come;

    but woe to that man through whom the occasion come! Matt.18:7

2. And if thy hand or thy foot causes you to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from you.

    It is good for you to enter into life maimed or halt,

    rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire. Matt.18:8

3. And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from you.

    It is good for thee to enter into life with one eye,

    rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire. Matt.18:9

4. Please beware, these are symbolic illustrations, no one shall ever take these literally!

    These are to strength expressions to emphasize the point!

D. A life long war against one’s own lust! Romans 7:18-25

1. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwell no good thing: for to will is present with me,

    but to do that which is good (is) not. Ro.7:18

2. For the good which I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I practice. Ro.7:19

3. But if what I would not, that I do, it is no more I that do it,

    but sin which dwell in me. Ro.7:20

4. I find then the law, that, to me who would do good, evil is present. Ro.7:21

5. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see a different law in my members,

    warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which

    is in my members. Ro.7:22-23

6. Wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me out of the body of this death? Ro.7:24

7. I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ro.7:25

E. Decisive actions needed!

1. Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion,

    evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Col.3:5

2. Wherefore come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, said the Lord, And touch no unclean

    thing; And I will receive you, and will be to you a Father, And ye shall be to me sons and daughters,

    said the Lord Almighty. 2 Cor.6:17-18

3. But you, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love,

    patience, meekness. 1 Tim.6:11
