Without understanding is a sin worthy of death!
A. Without understanding cause people to exchange the truth of God for a lie!
1. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—
who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts…. Romans 1:25-26
2. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.
Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. Acts 17:23
3. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in
heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them;
for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and
fourth generation of those who hate me. Deu.5:7-9
4. Be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. Do not follow other gods, the gods
of the peoples around you; for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn
against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land. Deu.6:12-15
5. From what says in the Bible this is the forever simple logic!
a. God created man. Gen.2:7, Acts 17:26. Man worship God, his creator. Normal, natural, common sense!
b. If all men obey God and follow their parents, all men still worshiping this one God!
c. Therefore, all other worships are from without understanding!
Now you see without understanding is a sin worship of death! Romans 1:31-32
B. Without understanding trapped people into denomination churches!
1. Denomination is warped, sinful and self-condemned!
Children of God must not have anything to do with them! Titus 3:10-11
2. Christ built his church. Matt.16:18 Christ added the saved into this church. Acts 2:47
3. The name of this church is church of Christ. Romans 16:16
4. If all men obey what says in the Bible and follow their parents, there would be one church still!
5. Now that denomination is here to stay, people become so confidently affirmed! 1 Tim.1:3-7
As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not
to teach false doctrines any longer nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote
controversies rather than God's work-- which is by faith. The goal of this command is love, which comes from
a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have wandered away from these and turned to
meaningless talk. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or
what they so confidently affirm. 1 Tim.1:3-7
6. Who will listen and do what Paul said! Romans 16:17-19
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them that are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to
the doctrine which ye learned: and turn away from them.
For they that are such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own belly;
and by their smooth and fair speech they beguile the hearts of the innocent.
For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I rejoice therefore over you:
but I would have you wise unto that which is good,
and simple unto that which is evil.
C. Without understanding is a sure way to distort the truth in the Bible! 2 Peter 3:16
1. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some
things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other
Scriptures, to their own destruction. 2 Peter 3:16
2. Knowing the truth is the way to be set free from sins! John 8:32
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
D. Conclusion: Without understandingà distort the truthà depart from the truthà
1. This is what happened when people distort the truth! Matt.23:15
Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert,
and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.
2. If they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God
all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. Heb.6:6
3. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God
under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has
insulted the Spirit of grace? Heb.10:28-29
