Searching for that peaceful and tranquil life!
A. At the beginning everything was very good! (Gen.1:31-2:2)
God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
God rested on the 7th day from all his work. Gen.2:2
Deep down in our heart we remember this kind of life!
We moved around and changed jobs in search of this kind of life!
Think about why you come here and do whatever you are doing!
This is our nature for life!
We search for this life until we got is or die searching for it!
B. Jesus said to his disciples when he sent them out! (Matt.10:11)
Whatever town or village you enter, search for some worthy person there and
stay at his house until you leave.
According to my study worthy person means someone who can provide you with room
and board and money to spend while living there!
And Jesus said, stay at his house until you leave!
C. This is how we must live while searching for that life!Matt.6:31-34
1. Be not anxious, saying, what shall we eat? What shall we drink?
How shall we be clothed? Matt.6:31
2. For after all these things do the Gentiles seek.
Your heavenly Father know that you need all these things. 6:32
3. Seek ye first his kingdom and his righteousness.
And all these things shall be added unto you. Matt.6:33
4. Be not anxious for tomorrow.
For tomorrow will be anxious for itself.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
D. Yes, this takes faith in the Lord and in his church! (1 Peter 1:8-9)
1. It takes to believe Jesus, the one whom we do not see, is Lord!
And rejoice in doing what he says in the Bible! 1 Peter 1:8
2. It takes faith to believe at the end we will receive salvation of our souls. 1 Peter 1:9
3. Practice in real life as did Timothy! Phil.2:19-21
I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly unto you…
for I have no man like minded, who will care truly for your state.
For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.
E. A better life on earth is all we may have! (1 Peter 3:10-12)
Whoever would love life and see good days:
1. He must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from lies!
2. He must turn from evil and do good.
3. He must seek peace and pursue it.
4. He must believe the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer.
5. He must believe God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you! (2 Thes.1:6)
F. Conclusion: 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and
purify us from all unrighteousness.
God is faithful and just.
We can trust him to restore everything to the original state as stated in Gen.1:31 -->
God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
Then we settle and search no more!
May the Lord bless you and keep you forever and ever. Jan., 25, 2008.
